Are You In A Toxic Relationship With Your Family?
“We cannot choose our family, but we can choose what we tolerate from them.” – Anne Hellgren
The relationships we create and nurture are one of the most important aspects of our lives. Whether we consciously or subconsciously create and nurture them, I believe it is in our human nature to be connected to others. Time and again, we see people who seem to have it all on the surface but are deeply unhappy if they lack good relationships and connections with others. This episode will be focusing on the relationships we build outside our romantic relationships. We will discuss how other relationships can also affect us on much deeper levels than we realize.
Sophie Watson joins me on today’s episode. She is a soul coach specializing in helping people who are feeling lost and would like to gain direction when they are making a transition in their life. She uses her ability to communicate with spirits and be highly empathic to help people tune into their intuition and energy.
Sophie shares the complex relationship she had with her sister since her teen years and onto their adulthood. Her very honest and open conversation is something I believe many people can identify with, unfortunately. However, in Sophie and her sister’s case, the relationship could not be saved. Listen in for signs that you may be in a toxic relationship with a family member or even a friend.
We discuss how at some point, no matter who the toxic relationship is with, one must learn to protect their mental health and detach from it. While we cannot choose our family, we can choose what we tolerate from them.
